Sun NXT is a free-to-download video streaming application that was created by Sun TV Network for mobile devices. It's a video-on-demand service specifically developed to cater to Indian audiences. It features various movies and TV shows that are available in multiple local dialects in the country.
Similar to Kitto or JioTV, Sun NXT features a catalog of content that is divided into various categories and languages. There are also various live streaming channels available, as well as catch-up TV for previously aired ones. The service offers multiple subscription plans on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis.
What is it?
Sun NXT is an Indian video-on-demand service that launched back in 2017 and is operated by Sun TV Network. The streaming platform had over 4000 movies and more than 400 TV shows in its catalog, as well as over 30 live channels to choose from. Apart from that, it also offers news coverage, comedy, original programming, and even music videos to its subscribers.
Another nice feature in Sun NXT is what it calls catch-up TV. You can basically watch reruns of a particular TV show or program a few days after they air live. The app itself is nicely designed and is intuitive to navigate and use. Tap on one and you will be directed to its dedicated page that shows you a short synopsis, cast, and other pertinent information.
Despite being fairly straightforward to use, there are a few things to keep in mind with this app. As of this writing, there is still a persistent issue regarding logins wherein it's unable to connect to the service properly even after typing in your account credentials. If you prefer watching on your TV, it has a casting function but it would often have connection problems.
A solid companion app to Sun NXT
In conclusion, if you're an existing Sun NXT subscriber and you want to take your shows with you on the go, its companion mobile app allows you to do this.
